Total duration: 36 theoretical hours across six units (2 sessions per unit, 3 hours each).
Rationale: The increasing prevalence of ASD highlights the need to train professionals and families in evidence-based interventions using an interdisciplinary approach centered on the person and their natural environment.
General Objective
Train parents, educators, students, and professionals in the implementation of clinical and educational interventions for people with ASD using evidence-based approaches such as ABA, play therapy, and language intervention.
Specific Objectives
- Identify clinical and diagnostic foundations of ASD.
- Apply ABA strategies in structured and natural settings.
- Design therapeutic sessions based on the individual profile.
- Implement play-based approaches for social and communication skills.
- Develop individualized language interventions.
- Propose curricular adaptations for school inclusion.
- Promote functional independent living skills.
Methodology
- Presentation of content supported by recent scientific evidence.
- Analysis of clinical cases and applied examples.
- Practical materials to transfer to classroom, home, and clinic settings.
Evaluation and Certification
A five-question multiple-choice exam is provided for each unit. It may be retaken until passed. The certificate is issued by Explora tu Potencial, A.C.
Schedule (12 sessions, 2 per unit, 3 hours each)
Each unit is delivered in two sessions and moves from understanding autism to implementing practical interventions. Sessions run every other Saturday, with one holiday-weekend adjustment.
