What to expect from your autism therapy consultation

A structured 5-stage process so every recommendation is grounded in real data about your child — not just one snapshot in a clinic.

  1. 1

    Initial consultation

A 60–90-minute call (online or in person) where we listen to the family's story, the child's developmental history, current concerns, and what success would look like. By the end of this conversation, you leave with clarity on whether and how a full clinical assessment should proceed — and what specific signals we would look for. No commitment beyond this session.

  2. 2

    Comprehensive assessment

We build a developmental profile across language, behavior, cognition, motor and ADL — combining direct observation, standardized screening (ASD, ADHD, language and cognitive instruments where indicated), and structured input from parents and existing therapists or teachers. The deliverable is a written clinical formulation explaining what we see, why it matters, and where to start.

  3. 3

    Individualized program design

Based on the assessment, we design an evidence-based program — ABA-style behavior plans, speech-language goals, cognitive and academic-readiness targets, and parent-training cycles — sequenced and prioritized for this child. Each goal has a measurable mastery criterion, so progress is observable rather than vibes-based.

  4. 4

    Ongoing sessions + real-time tracking

Sessions run weekly or biweekly (or at a cadence the case requires). Trial-level data is recorded in real time and visible to parents through the family portal — so you don't wait for a quarterly meeting to see if the plan is working. Between sessions, parents and assigned educators can log structured observations through the platform.

  5. 5

    Quarterly review + adaptation

Every three months we step back together: what's been mastered, what's stalled, what new priorities the family is seeing, what the data says about which programs to continue, modify, or retire. We update the plan in writing and re-set goals for the next quarter. Care evolves with the child — it isn't frozen on day one.

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the first call?

The initial session is 90 minutes, online or in person. We go through your child's developmental history, current concerns, prior reports, and what success would look like for your family. You leave with a personalised evaluation, clarified goals, and a clear written intervention plan — plus a recommendation on whether a fuller assessment makes sense.

Is the consultation online or in person?

Both. Most families meet Dr. Quiñones by video call from anywhere in the world. In-person sessions are available in Tucson, Arizona (TruePotential PLLC) and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua (Explora tu Potencial Juárez, A.C.).

What languages are consultations available in?

Live consultations are conducted in English or Spanish. Written plans and the platform materials that support them are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French.

Do I need a diagnosis before booking?

No. Many families book precisely because they are unsure — before a diagnosis, while on a waitlist, or for a second opinion on an existing autism evaluation. The consultation meets you wherever you are in the process.

Who should book — parents or professionals?

Both. Parents book for guidance and coaching on their child's plan. BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, psychologists, and educators book case consultations to review complex cases with a senior clinician.

What should I prepare?

Anything you already have: prior evaluations, school reports or IEPs, therapy notes, and short videos of the behaviors or communication you want to discuss. None of it is required — your story is enough to start.

What is the cancellation policy? Am I committing to ongoing sessions?

The initial session is the only commitment — there are no packages or contracts. You can reschedule or cancel with at least 24 hours' notice. Follow-ups and WhatsApp support are optional add-ons, not requirements.

How does WhatsApp support work?

After a completed initial evaluation, you can message Dr. Quiñones directly: the Lite plan ($59/month) covers up to 10 messages per month with a 1-business-day response, and the Standard plan ($99/month) covers up to 5 messages per business day with same-day responses.
